Partials, Atonics, and Surgery

I feel really dumb asking this question, but I know they treat partial seizures with surgery if you qualify. But (correct me if I'm wrong) atonic seizures are a generalized seizure, right? Do they treat generalized seizures with surgery also? Or would they do surgery only to treat the partial seizures?

On page 32 they mention a different type of surgery, the corpus collostomy, which is used sometimes for atonic seizures.

Wow, thanks for the link! That is so interesting. I had been under the impression that only partial seizures were surgically treatable, but I guess this is not the case.
