Nightmares and Night Terrors

I'm sure there already exists many threads/topics on this discussion but anyway...

I'd like to talk about my "nocturnal experiences" here...for the time being I will sum it up to feeling extremely paranoid about going to bed/falling asleep because I feel like something or someone or many somethings or someones is standing over my bed watching me sleep...now this may not sound all that bad...I mean what is so bad about a presence or many presences standing over your bed watching you sleep...it's probably just your "guardian angel" right??? WRONG! well I meant that in a sarcastic way...it feels more like my mind is playing tricks on me...until I have that unimaginable horrifying experience and wake up paralyzed with terror...I haven't had one in a while thank GOD...but usually I will see myself entering into some alternate dimension (usually dark and dismal) or being taken or led into some strange unearthly looking place...I woke my wife up once after shaking and moaning in my sleep and woke up drenched in sweat feeling weak with cold chills over my entire body feeling like there was some ominous presence in the room...but most of the nightmares I have usually there is this dark mist-like entity that I experience either passing through me or near me...leaving a cold terrible feeling or hopelessness and dread...this is more relative to the past though...lately my dreams are just...weird...bunch of random this and that mixed into here and there...most of the time I am flying or have this sensation of having some sort of supernatural ability and/or power...I also recall hearing loud explosions and/or "thunderclap" like sounds upon falling asleep and waking...out of body experience??? Lol...who knows...I mean the mind is a fascinating thing and we have so much to learn about it...dreams (and nightmares) could be our brains way of teaching us more about ourselves :brain:

Most of the time my dreams are pretty extreme...but that is the "norm" for me...I think I should be more concerned about not having dreams at all...now THAT is scary
