My MYCLONIC Epilepsy started when I was 16, its been 8 years but still i am having seizures. I have been under medication - Sodium Divelproex Extended Release.

Symptoms - Strong Seizures from head to toe, once the seizure was strong that it dislocated my left shoulder, leads to confusion, memory loss(usually forget what i had done in last 2 days),

This happens only when i wake up from sleep or when i have a nap or insufficient sleep.

To keep my brain alert and active I play a TT, badminton and yoga and meditation a lot. But still I need more control over my problems.

Please Please suggest............

Hi ashishsavadia, welcome!

Have you tried other meds? While valproate is the treatment of choice, lamotrigine, topiramate, levetiracetam, and zonisamide are increasingly being used to treat myoclonic seizures.

Another treatment possibility is neurofeedback -- it may help especially if you are having sleep issues that are contributing to your seizures.
