This is something I knew nothing about, never even heard of until this morning and I could not believe it, I hope you find this helpful. Ireland at the moment is getting hit with heavy rain (a lot) and high winds of around 70 to winds recorded (where I live) of 123 miles per hour, it was not surprising when you hear of people falling into a river or something like that, but then I heard about "Neknominate". This is what happened.

It seems there's a new trend in town: Neknominate. Seemingly invented by the Aussies, the craze has crossed the water and taken Britain and Ireland by storm. The challenge consists of filming oneself "skolling" - that's downing to you and I - copious quantities of alcohol in a short space of time, and then setting a challenge for someone else to complete.

There has been a call for facebook to with draw pages refering to Neknominate. But facebook has rejected calls to ban pages and videos linked to a "neknomination" drinking craze despite several deaths in Ireland being linked to the online dare.

One description, appearing on one of many Facebook pages set up in honour of the game, reads: "Neck your drink. Nominate another. Don't break the chain, don't be a dick. The social drinking game for social media! #neknominate. Drink Responsibly."

One youngster bit the head off a chicken before his session started. I just think parents should know about this, to me it is unreal.

Stupidity is very true and I do hope it passes,I had no idea if other people had heard about this or knew what it was. I had no idea about it, never knew it existed so I just thought I would mention it. I cannot get over the youngster who bit off the head of the chicken, had his drink and then ate the head.

Im an Aussie & I never heard of this neknominate until I read this post & looked up N Sperlos link.

It does sound like a really stupid fad which hopefully won't last to long.

CQ:)

Thank you CQ:) you see I think they are looking for somewhere to blame and nothing else.

2ndchances

I would be just afraid it would catch on.

Wow, that's a new one to me! Of course, competitive drinking has been around in one form or another since caveman days...

Nakamova

That is very true it has been around but not to this level.
