my prednisone was decreased and i started having more myoclonic jerks. the jerks used to show up on the eeg but now they aren't. my dr said that there are certain lupus twitches that mimick myoclonick jerks. as soon as i went back up on the prednisone, the jerks stopped. so now there are epileptic seizures and lupus twitches. this is obnoxious. they are not sure yet if the small buzz feelings that i have been experiencing are lupus related or epilepsy related, or both. so i definitely have epilepsy and i definitely have lupus. its not a matter of diagnosing anymore, but of figuring out the difference between the two.

frustrating! it makes a difference in the treatment, doesn't it? Do the twitches feel different? the buzzing feel different?

Well that

just sucks a hill o'beans not knowing the difference between them. I'd be frustrated as well. *scratching head* I'm gonna give this some thought to see if my old brain can come up with any ideas for you....

the twitches feel a bit different, but it looks the same. the buzzing feeling has never happened before. i had about ten in one minute today and my neuro said that there was some seizure activity. so i guess the twitches may be lupus but the buzzing is epileptic.

this better be my last hospitalization this year. i have to maintain at least a 3.8 gpa in order to get into my senior year program. that will be difficult if i'm in the hospital half the time. although, right this minute, i would kill for some school work to do. only because they are making me sleep deprived and i don't have anything to do

Ask your mom and dad for a nice book in 18th century french literature.... Or even better yet, Dante's Inferno.

Oh, wait. It's supposed to be sleep DEPRIVED. lol...

haha. i'm in a hospital that's an hour and a half from where i live but i'm reading plenty from my nook
