Since being on the vimpat lately I've noticed a few occasions while working, once using the washroom or getting up that I get light headed. I haven't checked my pulse often or in those situations but in the evening my pulse has dropped down as low as 59. I don't ever remember being in the high 50s, 70s but not that low. My wife tells me I'm worrying for nothing and it's because I am healthy and exercise. Vimpat has a side effect of slow or rapid heart rate.

Any thoughts, I'll let my neurologist know also though.

Hi gnault,

I've been on vimpat for many yrs. and the drug can increase or decrease a persons heart rate sometimes. If you start noticing that you feel tired a lot of the time no matter how much rest you get then you need to get ahold of your family Dr. to see if the drug is the problem. Other than that you should be okay. Wishing you the best of luck and May God Bless You!
