I had a seizure a week ago tonight and really bit the **** out of my cheek and it has been a real pain since
lately I've been eating pumpkin seeds for general health, a few at a time, but today I shoved a fistful in my mouth and was doing a 'chaw' type sucking and chewing gradually (sort of the baseball type thing) - and finally after 30 minutes or so managed to eat it all
- and WOW
the pain in my cheek has decreased - almost a numbing effect
it seems the gnaw wound has shrunk dramatically too
I don't know what it is or why, but that's what I can report
a recommended quick fix-it for those cheek and tongue gnaws
pumpkin seeds - high in iron, phosphorous, magnesium, zinc
some hard minerals to find in high quantities in foods anyway
and they're some good nerve health ones too anyway if I recall correctly
same with sunflower seeds
high in sodium though

huh - ok I found info online that says they both contribute to cold sores but also info that says they are a proven solution for treating tiredness, cracking at corners of the mouth, recurrent mouth ulcers, sore tongue which I guess I am confirming right now. But this says it's because they're high in iron, which I wouldn't have absorbed that quickly, unless it was partly absorbed in my mouth, and not in my digestive tract, which may have caused the effect.
I don't know for sure.
I'd say it's worth an investigation on your own regarding your own meds and diet and yadda. Natural cures are always nice to find.
