Purple Day

So what plans have you all got for Purple Day. I have had my hair coloured purple (violet) and my kids and I will be selling merchandise which Epilepsy Action Australia will be sending such as pens, wristbands and purple shoelaces. I will probably be making and selling purple cupcakes too. I am really looking forward to it just as I did last year.

I've seen the merchandise that Epilepsy Action Australia will be selling on the net & the purple shoelaces are so cool

I have my 12 month follow up appt with the Neurologist & Neuropsych at the Austin Health on Purple Day lol. We are driving to Melbourne that morning & coming home that evening after my appts. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive each way so it will a long day but it's always worth it & is still a good day out lol.

Well girl that's a great excuse to go SHOPPING!!!

Don't know ur weather there but warm? purple sandals, cold? purple hoodie, or hell, both with a cute pair of jeans would be fun to celebrate in =)

Yes, my follow up appt is March 26th lol.
The epilepsy clinic I go to runs every Monday afternoon, after I made this upcoming appt at my last check up (back in December) & realised my 12 month appt is Purple day I thought that is so cool ..

I have a purple t-shirt & a 3/4 purple top so depending on what the weather is like I'll wear one of them.

I've got to worry about green day first lol (St Paddy's day). After that i will definitely be looking for purple to wear. I've told all my family about purple day.

I'm not sure what i can do for awareness though, i'm not sure if i'm at work yet. onder:

I also started an event for everyone on my facebook. Wear purple friends! if not for me then the hundreds like me.

OK, my 1st Purple Day......but they will get better. Next time, raising funds but have to start somewhere.

I am going to bring 50/60 bags of candy to work, all done out pretty and yummy fillings and each tied with purple ribbon.

So person taking the candy should commit to reading the doc and as a reward they get to eat the candy = awareness...

Any feedback or maybe you have preferred link to seizure first aid, I’m open to suggestions.....but those Canadians in Edmonton got a good doc going on....

If not, got me a plan and going to see it through with pleasure.

that's where I got all the posters I handed out Chaz. I also went store to store ( Target, Walgreens, BestBuy, Game Stop) and spoke to the manages and some employee's about wearing something purple for the event. I also went door to door and handing out posters to my neighbors and told them about . the local girl scouts are spreading the word for me. My apartment complex managers are going to deck out in purple and spread the word to everyone they see.

I have a purple shirt and skirt I'll be wearing and my mom and grandmother will be wearing purple for me as well. All my friends will be joining. I also started a Facebook event and we already got 530 people to pledge to wear purple tomorrow. I'm trying as hard as I can to spread the word. <3

I don't have a lot ot fight for so when i do get something, I go 150% and give it your all. i wanted to really get people to understand seizures.

Doesn't help that i'm having trouble today . My vision gets doubles, I feel light headed and I feel like I am going to pass out. My speech is wrong, and I don't really understand what i'm saying. But I still want to spread the word.

I spent the day walking around my old neighborhood handing out purple day posters and brochures and talked to everyone about it. I also called the Duggars (from "19 Kids and Counting") and told them all about it. Hopefully they can do something. If not this year then the next.

I also sent some emails to a couple of famous People. My favorite author, Sherrilyn Kenyon, will be attending purple day too! She told me (well her assistant) that her brother and her close friend have seizures. So it's a close thing for her. I also sent one to Ellen Degeneres and the others. Of course they probably won't get them but it's nice to think I actually tried. :woot:

My daughter's school made an announcement on Friday asking the kiddos to wear purple - there are at least 3 kids with E in her K-8 school. I'll be wearing my purple sweater and E awareness pin.
