Does anyone here take Quercetin or ever had a bad reaction to it? Thanks.

For those who don't know (I didn't), quercetin is a flavonoid found in things like dill, cilantro, capers, and some berries and fruits. It's also sold as a supplement. There has been some preliminary research on its potential health benefits (particularly as an anti-inflammatory), though "quercetin has not been confirmed scientifically as a specific therapeutic for any condition nor approved by any regulatory agency. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved any health claims for quercetin."

Some people can be sensitive to it, and it can also interact with fluoroquinolone antibiotics. I haven't take it as a supplement, but I do eat a lot of cilantro without any ill effects. Have you tried it Emee, or are you considering trying it?

It is included in my vitamin C supplement. I haven't noted any bad reaction to it and have taken it for years.

An internist that only practices natural medicine now, prescribed it for my 4 year old grandson to help with his autism symptoms. For some reason, that I can't remember now, he had to stop taking it.

Thanks for your comments. I'm considering taking it for an inflammatory & for allergies. I seem to be allergic to just about everything & have learned to do my homework before trying anything new.
