Have those lovely ladies who happen to have Epilepsy ever experienced paranoia of having a seizure when your hormones tend to rage around that time of the month.... I am hoping that I am not alone and don't sound completely silly posting this!

Oh for sure. Most of my seizures cluster around high estrogen time at ovulation and the week before my period. So, no, you are not silly. Women's hormones absolutely affect our seizure thresholds. Catamenial Epilepsy is for those women who only seem to get seizures around that time.

I used to have horrible uncontrolled seizures and never knew when I would have one, until probably 2 years ago I only have seizures the week before and the week after my period.

When I first started having seizures over 30 years ago, they happened around "that time of month". I remember noticing a pattern of the seizures usually happening then. I asked the dr. about the link between the two, but they didn't know much about catamenial epilepsy back then.

Indeed! I made a line graph recently comparing seizure activity to my cycle. (I track both so i had about 18 months of data). While my cycles are off cause of the perimenopause, the sz and cycle activity are like bosum buddies. Between the two I'm surprised my husband still tolerates me! :p
