I hope you all don't mind with me asking this question.

My husband boss was in taxi headed to airport in Hawaii to return home. He had a heart attack, Dr. said he had a myoclonic seizure that caused the Heart Attack.

Dr. have put in a coma lower his body temp.

His wife is as you image about to loss it.

Prayers Needed For Rick

Prayers sent. I hope he is able to make a full recovery.

I haven't found anything in the literature linking myoclonus to heart attacks. Maybe he had a myoclonic seizure which somehow damaged the coronary artery? It would have to be an unusually dramatic spasm to cause such an injury. Was he known to have myoclonic epilepsy? Otherwise, I'm not sure how the docs could even assume a myoclonic seizures even occurred or caused the attack. It would make more sense that there was underlying heart disease that played at least a contributory role.

yes, the reverse scenario is more common.

Oh my goodness. Prayers sent for Rick for a full and speedy recovery and to the family at this worrying time. Blessings to you all.

Thanks so much for reading and replying. He did not have E. of any kind.
At 1st. the Dr. said it was a heart attack, next day Dr. told his wife that he had a seizure that caused the heart attack. That PM the Dr. told his wife that it was a myoclonic seizure.

His wife is now making arrangement to use a medical Jet (when Dr. gives ok to have him flown back to Atlanta.

UPDATE:::::

Ric Dr. said he did not have a heart attack, that the seizure caused him to have coronary arrest.

His wife is still trying to get an ICU air flight back to Atlanta.

I think it's very unusual for a first-time seizure to cause a cardiac arrest. It's what happens in SUDEP, but that occurs after a long history of seizures, and is usually accompanied by heart disease or genetic heart issues.

I hope is wife can get him home. She must be frantic. :(

My husband co-worker died today at 2PM.

He never came to since that day.

The Neuro. at the hospital did 24 EEG, then told his family Mon. that he would not make it.

That is so sad. Sending prayers for his family. . May he be at peace and pain free.

Gosh, so sorry to hear this. Sending healing thoughts.
