Hello everyone,

I noticed the site about a week ago skimming the net and figured I'd take a look. I've been looking through a few of the threads a few times now & noticed how great you guys are for any kind of info - medical or otherwise - and, again frankly, I'm impressed.

My quick synopsis is my first seizure at 17, driving home from work. Crazyness and overcoming issues with seizures and brain surgery have ended me back at work, finally with a great set of Keppra pills a day (500mg) and a ton of research almost daily, to keep my reading abilities running as smoothly as possible. (You know, every blog read is a blog of research to me!)

I'm sure I'll continue to read through with you guys as much as possible, and maybe even do my part when I can.

-Ryan

Welcome to CWE Ryan!

You're right, this forum is a terrific resource. Lots of information, and super people willing to share and listen. I hope you feel free to wander around and settle in.

Hey New Guy.... glad to meet you. Nice to hear you like Bernard's place.
It has been a great place for me to learn, and a safe spot to fall when life gets rough.
My daughter is 17 (going to be 18 on the 17th of this month-she keeps reminding me) and we are seeing great results by making nutritional changes. Neurofeedback has also been a part of her roller coaster ride. Life is looking brighter, and this is being done without meds. Been there done that.... no good for her.

Welcome

Welcome to CWE! Come on in, have a seat and a cup of coffee. There is always room for one more. Lots of info on keppra here.

hello hello Ryan! Welcome to our home!
All the people here are very nice, and they are all willing to help answer your questions. we have great moderators that you can ask anything to, in case your skeptical about posting it.

Hope you ebjoy it here!

Well thanks again. Yeah, I've noticed plenty of good news about a bit of vitamin B6 I might try out - this is to help w/ the mood swings from Keppra, right?

Robin, I have noticed excellent benefits from both a good excercise plan and a healthy diet. I think the obvious changes - seizure and mental theoropy alike - have even persuaded my mom to try it out on her own this past year. My only problem is trying to keep myself motivated to do it all the time!

:mrt:

Motivation = raise seizure threshold
Create healthy body and mind environment. I don't think you will have to persuade your mom when she sees how it is helping you. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. The mind is an interesting thing. I witness it everywhere. People know it has a good chance of improving the quality of their life, though they fight the idea of it.
Fascinates me.

Hi, hello

and how do you do, Ryan???

Wow, you got lucky!! Buckeye already brought the coffee!!!

You're going to find lots of great friends here, lots of great information and an even better support system.

Welcome to CWE, and feel free to check out all the nooks and crannies here. The Library and Kitchen are great for information and the Padded Room is great for venting when you need to...and trust me, we all need to now and again.

Take care!

Hi Ryan,

Bernard made this forum out of love for his wife Stacy. This love permeates throughout the whole forum.

I take Vitamin B complex for my Keppra. That was the first thing that my neurologist told me when he put me on Keppra.

That was tough having your first seizure when driving. Are you still driving?

Ruth

Welcome Ryan!

The forum has been a huge help to me, too. The folks in here are incredibly nice, and well-informed. They've helped me navigate some pretty murky waters.
