Hi there. I'm unsure if anybody remembers me. The terrible poet! Well, the terrible poet returns.

Not much has changed for me. I'm coming off Valium, am off Depakote, seizures more frequent but milder. Couple public embarrassments. Couple fits just before important events. Bad memory trouble. Feeling downcast. Feeling rather as though I'll never be able to function normally. On the other hand, I might be getting an assistance dog who'll sniff out seizures. How that works, I don't know, but I'd be glad of the company of a pet even if it doesn't work. Also glad to be able to feel rebellious taking it into "no dogs allowed" places!

Hi ilexa margareta,
I'm glad to hear that you will be getting a seizure alert dog. According to what I have been told the dog can smell a chemical our body gives off long before a person has a seizure and depending on how the dog is trained the dog will either put his paw on your leg, or bark and lay down by your side to protect a person in case of a fall.
I was on Depakote for yrs. and it worked great for my absence seizures but my body became immune to the drug and I had to go off of the Depakote. After that I had surgery to reduce my seizures and now I'm using CBD (medical marijuana)at my Drs. request and I am very surprised how much it has helped me. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

No such thing as bad poet if come from the heart in love or anger humour that is definition of poetry.
Coming off the Valium how hard is it because I think my nuro going suggests I cut cloberzam down not something I want think about let alone do.
I soooo sooo understand getting them before main events I got one tomorrow and I know it going to happen I talked myself into it my head feels like mush.
Good see you posts put poetry up

Hey ilexa margareta, welcome back!

Feel free to share your "terrible" poetry. I bet it's not so terrible. :)

I agree w. seagull -- coming off brain meds can sometimes have side effects that include depression. Ask your doc about ways to minimize side effects. maybe therapy would help as well? And thumbs-up for a pet, I hope you get a nice companion animal soon.
