I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in Canada, we've chosen November 11th as Remembrance Day. A day to think of all those who have served their country with honor, weither it be veterans from before our time or those who are away from home right now. I currently have two people over seas right now. Althought I think my government officials are idiots for sending them over I will support them now and upon their return.
My grandfather was a POW in a Japanesse camp. He instilled in me a great respect for those who fought defending the rights we have today.
I'm hoping some of you will take a moment to pay your respect with me.
LEST WE FORGET

Rememberance Day is also 11 November here in Australia.

Salute to all soldiers and vets.

In the US, Nov. 11th started out as Armistice Day at the end of WWI. It is still known as Armistice Day in Belgium and France.

In 1954, the US changed it to Veterans Day to include all veterans shortly after WWII and the Korean War.

As far as I have read, the British Commonwealth has called it Remembrance Day from the start.

In Poland, this is their Indepence Day as the country was restored at the end of the war. The ancient country of Poland had been partitioned amongst others for 123 years before being restored.

Lots to be thankful for today.
