So results are in from my EEG last week. Lots of sharp wave activity in the posterial temporal lobe. Big surprise, since they showed up during the relaxing/sleeping segment. That is the time when I have 90% of my seizures anyway :)

I get yet another increase in med's and a trip to University of Chicago :)

Yippee

I can't tell if that yippee is happy or sarcastic. But I'm glad they found something? Good luck with the trip.

So, you are the big prize winner and won a trip to U of C!

Talk about a mixed blessing. Bad news. But great to know finally what you're dealing with, and great to be going to some very competent specialists. All the same, I'd rather you have no seizures and a clear eeg, and I'm sure you do, too. But I don't think that's a choice any of us have.

<<<<<big hugs>>>>>

When are you scheduled to go?

Okay, so you figured it out....the "yipee" was sarcastic. I tend to be that way a lot!

Endless..they haven't called back yet with the date. After talking this over with the husband last night, he has decided to change my name to "Abby". We are big fans of the movie "Young Frankenstine" :)

I love that movie :)

Does the Chicago visit mean that they are considering surgery? Or swapping your brain out with someone else's?

Hmmmm, if

we're talking about swapping brains, can we opt out for all new ones???

This is going to a good place....Who's brain would you want??

I am going to go with Mel Brooks, and not just for the Young Frankinstine reference earlier. He is so creative and funny and has the same sarcastic look on things that I like. :)

Or Madeleine Kahn from YF. Hilarious actress.

Actually I like mine. Or did anyway, until finding out it was wasting away. Would do anything just to be the old me sometimes.

But since we're considering... what about sheldon from the big bang? Ok yes he's as obnoxious as hell but as we all know... the smartest person in the universe... lol even he'll tell ya that. That would be a big difference compared to 'What did I come into this room for?'... or 'Why do I have on one purple slipper and one green one??'

knock, knock, knock, Bazinga!
...Penny? ...Penny? ...Penny? LMAO he is too much!!

huskymom, I feel your pain and frustration, sorry to hear about your crappy results. I too had an appointment last week and found out that indeed, I do have Hippocampal Sclerosis.
Epileptologist is so focused on surgery that I keep telling myself at some point I'll have to start accepting the idea, but I have no clue when I can start. How about never? Is never an okay answer?!?!?!
I wish you all the best at the university and maybe you and your husband can have some fun on your trip! When I have appointments we always get a nice hotel room and dress up for dinners out at great restaurants. There has to be some sort of highlight right?
