I was reading that Ritalin is good for stabilizing low blood pressure therefore helping prevent syncope which I experience. But, I also see that Ritalin should not be taken by those who have seizures. Of course, I would like to know if anyone here has taken it & how it effected them? It seems everything that might help me can also trigger seizures or migraines. I know we all have this problem. I think it's time for me to stop reading. Thanks.

Ritalin is a CNS stimulant used for ADHD. My son took it when he was in school because he was ADHD. It did really slow him down, but I don't think I would have taken it since I am the one with epilepsy. His psychiatrist said that folks like me shouldn't take these type meds because they could bring on a seizure.

Are you getting enough potassium in your diet? And avoiding alcohol and caffeine? These can help the situation.

Ritalin is 75% methanphetamine. It works for ADHD, but I didn't like it. Made me anxious and I stopped eating well. Last time I took it was in 6th grade. I would suggest trying other avenues first.

Growing up, I had friends who use to sell their Ritalin and Adderall to other kids so they could snort it and get all hopped up. It’s basically speed that also helps you concentrate. Being a stimulant, it makes sense that it would help with syncope… but any stimulate doesn’t play nice with E. It just depends on what your brain can tolerate.

My nephew use to take Ritalin when he was a kid and it made all the difference in the world to if he missed a dose to how he acted.I helped raise my nephew I know. His Pediatrician put him on it.He took it for till he was 12 from 6 yrs old.
