As much as I agree with this petition it is my understanding that online petitions have no legal weight because of the lack of signature.

I would suggest that Americans on this site find organizations that might have a hard copy of a similar petition to sign.

Claim: Signing and circulating online petitions is an effective way of remedying important issues.
