I was ordered to go to emergency last nite for the thyroid stuff (chest tightness). My levels doubled from last weeks & last nite's were doubled again. Im pretty frustrated. I take my medication. The doctor didnt even look at my chart before guessing I have graves - we (my cousin & me) asked him how he knew & he said my eyes. Thats changing.

The hospital stay before that wasnt only mainly partial seizures that they saw but very low blood sugars & parasomnias. Im trying to juggle things & Im feeling very overwhelmed. I thought that w/ my thyroid med increase my levels would come down not go up. Ive had to start beta blockers which I didnt want to do but they are saying I dont have much choice. I slept last night w/ the help of ativan. I really wanted to be euthyroid & I couldnt believe they doubled again. Now I have to see an eye doctor. I wanted this to be simple lol.

I have low thyroid, so I am not much help either. I do have a question. I went into the hospital a couple of years ago with chest pain and fatigue. Well, they obviously checked out my heart from top to bottom and it was fine. It turned out that my thyroid was low, along with low iron, low B12, and evidence that I had something called Coxsackie virus. ALL of which could cause the fatigue in addition to my AEDs.

My question is that I had never heard of thyroid tied to chest tightness before. Was this like heart pain or more like a breathing/asthma tightness??

I used my inhaler for it to not work - & my regular doc (who I spoke to on the phone) thought it was related to my heart. Something about needing my meds to be so high & still havent gotten me euthyoid (which is what I cant believe) - so I am now on a beta blocker. Something about the antibody causing a lot of these symptoms.

It was more like asthma tightness - no pain. & J had tightness on the left side of my neck.

Im only (almost)28. Heart stuff is possible w/ graves' but Im still young.

But they guessed graves as I walked in the door b/c of my eyes lol.
