Has anyone dealt with SCBN? What are they like and is an actual company?

There are a lot of reports that suggest that it is a scam. Even the comments on their own site http://www.scbn.org/news/about-scbn-prescription-advocacy/ imply that it has a very mixed record, to say the least. Here's one comment that you might find instructive:

For a company that claims to want to be so helpful you sure do take advantage of patients that truly can not afford their medications. You are charging people a fee to assist them WITHOUT informing them that they can do the exact same thing on their own free of charge. Shame on you for taking advantage of people in their time of need. Your wonderful company tried to charge me $85.00 for medication vouchers that the manufacturer ended up providing me free of charge. Your company is just trying to make money, not help people. Each time I spoke with anyone from your company, the more confused I became. I was just getting conflicting information left and right. One of your company representatives told me that I would receive my vouchers within one week and that I could take these directly to the pharmacy to fill my prescription. Another representative told me that I had to mail my original prescription to you and that it would take 6 weeks to get my medication and that my meds would be sent directly to my doctors office. It was just a different story every single time. Also you guys conveniently failed to mention the $50.00 enrollment fee that you tried to screw me out of until the very end of our conversation….the $50.00 fee that would only be good for one month unless I sent you denial letters from various health insurance companies showing proof that I was attempting to obtain health insurance. I am a cancer patient and my medication is for severe pain yet you people were in no rush to see to it that I received my meds in a timely manner. You can’t leave a cancer pain patient without pain meds for 6 weeks. Are you kidding me?!! Now this is the best part….in the end it was going to actually cost me LESS MONEY to go directly to my pharmacy and pay out of pocket for my medication using the GoodRX discount card (which is a FREE card that anyone get) than it would have cost me had I gone through your company! WOW!!! That’s one heck of a helpful company you got there. Luckily the manufacturer helped me through their patient assistance program…..FREE OF CHARGE….and they made sure that they sent me the vouchers in time to fill my prescription instead of expecting me to just suffer through it while waiting several weeks for my vouchers to come in the mail. I hope this message makes it onto your blog so I am able to help as many patients as I can before they get sucked in and scammed by your company.

Thanks. I'd read some good things and bad about it, but you usually get that about everything. I just wanted to see if anyone else had done business or had an opinion about them in general. Not going to do anything with them now, don't want to make a big mistake.
