Ugh, I seized in the bathroom today when I was startled by accidentally rubbing up against the light switch and sending the room into total pitch darkness (no windows, door was closed). My 2 year old daughter was in the shower (she prefers showers). Thankfully the simple partial was long enough for me to turn off the water and sit down, but I went into a full blown complex partial. The aura was much shorter than it usually is.

I was feeling fine all day, and then wham.

I consider myself pretty lucky to get auras and to never have had a GM seizure. But the idea of seizing while my toddler is in the bath has always been a worry in the back of my mind, and it happened today. Glad she was in the shower and not the bath, although she's old enough to mostly be able to handle herself. But it was still unnerving. =/

There is something about bathrooms and seizures that seem to go hand in hand.
I'm sorry that had to happen.
I'm glad your little toddler was safe! I hope she wasn't too upset! She must be used to you and your seizures but it's still scary for you and her I'm sure.
I hope it never happens again.

:agree: And to never have a grand mal. In the shower even!! You ARE pretty damn lucky!!

I've had a few grand mals in the bathroom, but not during a shower fortunately. Still managed to do a fair amount of damage.

Hope you are feeling better!

scary indeed! I always worry that I'll have one when I'm alone with the kids. With something in the oven or, water running. Yeah. That would be bad.

Glad you're both ok!
