Hi there, I wonder if anybody has any tips to help my body recover faster at home from a tonic-clonic, grand-mal, or whatever the correct term is these days. I am sore for days afterwards.
Too bad each one takes a chunk of my brain too because they are great workouts. I just had one on Thursday morning and still very sore.
Somebody told me to chug the gatorade afterwards, so I've been chugging it, but I'm not sure if it's helping.
The only ever seizure I wasn't sore after was when I went to the hospital and they plugged the saline drip into my arm. (at which point the medic suggested drinking gatorade after any future seizures).
Any ideas?

Your body is definitely out of balance. You need to find someone who's trained in body energy rebalancing techniques like cranial sacral or reike. In the meantime I would suggest going to www.naturessunshine.com and getting some lavender oil. If you need more info. ask me. It would take a book to properly explain here.
By the way....I wouldn't drink gatorade or any of those commercial on the store shelf tonic waters, etc. -Especially avoid the ones that say "sugar free" or "low calorie", etc. There is a huge chance the low cal./sugar free ones contain an artificial sweetener called "aspartame". That stuff is literally a nerotoxin and has been known to cause, or make worse, migraines, seizures, M.S. symptoms, and many other neurological conditions! Go look up "aspartame" on www.altavista.com once......you'll fall out of your chair in shock reading half of the information!
You need something that can calm your system down. Lavender oil does that. Again, if you want more advice, ask me.

I was more looking for something to ease sore muscles faster. I have tried creatine as well but didn't notice any difference.

Hi Squeekygeorge:)

I’m certainly no expert, but what you’ve been through, physically anyway, is like a very intense workout. I’ve only had one TC, but I remember feeling like I had run a triathlon:P However, what always worked for me back in the day when I was able to exercise to the point that I ended up with sore muscles was…more exercise. I forget what the explanation is for why that works, but it does. But considering you’re recovering from a seizure, be careful and be sure not to over do it. :)

PS
On further reflection, I think that more exercise helps because it increases circulation which helps your muscles eliminate the lactic acid(I think?) that builds up and causes the pain. Also, when you are sore, you tend not to move much which causes stiffness which in turn adds to soreness. So a little gentle exercise helps on both counts.

Hi squeekygeorge --

I found that the muscle soreness from a seizure basically needs to heal at it's own pace, but you can take ibuprofen in the early days to help with inflammation, and ultrasound can feel pretty good too. Avoid doing anything that strains the back. As it starts to feel better, gentle exercises can help like "cat and camel": http://www.backpainblog.com/cat-and-camel-stretch.html

Thanks everybody. I was hoping somebody out there had found a magic cure. But looks like I'll just have to stick it out and wait. I'll try the magnesium, since I looked it up and it's very difficult to overdose I figure it can't hurt to try it.
