Anyone else have Seizures when at or just leaving the Doctors office?

I'm 80% more likely to have a noticeable seizure when leaving.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Just a toss in........

Anyone talked/read about HAARP & Epilepsy? HAARP = (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program).

No to

both statements, RC.

What can you tell us about HAARP? I'm curious.

Also, do you have any idea WHY you tend to have seizures when you're leaving the doctor's office?? That's a bit.....odd.......

I do not know much on HAARP. I had just heard about it on TV. I Googled it and found lots of sites about it. HAARP has its own site also.

I'm always going to be a bit on the conspiracy side but I do not beleave in anything they say about HAARP.
I can not think of a conspiracy thing that I do believe yet.
I do like to read about them.
HAARP conspiracies of mind control just make me think of different frequencies that may cause seizures.

Ill have to respond to the odd part later.

Hi RC --

Does it happen when you are leaving all doctor's offices or just some. I was wondering if it might have to do with office/hospital lighting (which is often fluorescent, a potential seizure trigger), or maybe from getting up quickly, or stress.

Stress can trigger seizures. I tend to get very stressed before, during and after my app. Partly becuase I have to travel.. and I am obsessive about being spot on time.. then all the questions I get asked....and trying my best NOT to seize while in there because I want to show Im doing well...

Its not odd at all...if you find it stressful seeing hte dr. that might be why.

I didn't

mean it odd in a bad way, just that the TIMING was odd.........but having read Vapour's response, I think I can understand why now.....

Sorry if I offended you, RC. I really didn't mean to. :paperbag:

It maybe Odd or funny I just had to go to bed. It would take me some time to explain it and that it did..
I will get to see a neurologist here soon. I'm hoping he/she will understand and tell me things i don't know.
It is hard to write how I feel just before a seizure and during. I hit backspace because I think to my self will the reader even understand.
I know if I am feeling something it already is happening ( a seizure ). I have never came across/read an experience like mine.
Maybe I just am to much into detail on it all. I understand everyone is different.
From all the definitions the seizures I have now fit mostly into the complex partial type "I think ?" not all the way tho. I think I may have had this my whole life. It all really started around when I was 19 or 20 with one GM.
((--I will have a grandmal if I don't take my generic Dilantin. I have never wet during a grandmal. I don't remember much before and after. Maybe some vague sites and feels. Can't breath. Looking behind my right shoulder. --))

Right now I'm dealing with, what I think will end up being called complex partials. Keppra (Gen.) seems to work. I will need to get prescribed more.I don't like to just stop where "all is good". I want to know everything about them and me. Yes I will and do take my meds but I know they hide what is wrong or what ever you may call it. I will always look for stories and research ideas.

I'm most likely to have a seizure (complex partial) when------

---I get home from work and plop down on the couch.
---When I go to take my first bite of dinner.
---When the goal is met in a movie.
---When I feel someone understands me.
---My bill is paid, I got my script and I'm sitting in the car or walking out of the building.
---A brief happy moment, not always previous stress.
---Getting snuggled in waiting for that big buck (deer) to walk up.

I do not have them when--------------------
---I win/lose a game or run a mile.
---When I'm trying to save someones life.
---If my heart is beating fast.
---To hot or cold.
---Mad or sad.

Maybe stress or certain feelings of success.
I wonder what the test will be if there is one....

That sounds strange to me.. but I also don't have as many triggers as you do. Have you had an EEG and MRI done to see what is the cause behind your seizures?
Are you seizures connected in any way to Epilepsy?
What meds do you take?

It sounds like those triggered seizures are extreme/rare reflexive seizures or some odd type most people don't have.

What has your neurologist said about those type events?

I'm still paying collections for that darn MRI from 2003. It was not even conclusive. They said I moved to much during it.
My only EEG was on a machine with an assistant both as old as dirt. It seemed bad channels and placement of electrodes where not smart. Also methods used to produce a standard response, just where not set up right.
I will be boiling done some facts to come up with a trigger.

NOTE....
I worked at this old large print shop for 10 years. After 7 years is when they started.
I have been looking up on....
Chemical fume brain damage ????. The ink was soy based not bad fumes but one of the 2 cleaners used was.

The EEG tech and the test you had cannot possibly so distorted or messed up where it cannot be interpreted by an neurologist. If the machine isn't working right- then they use another one or send you to another EEG lab. They cannot maintain a proper EEG lab on decrepid machines. Also there is no way that an EEG tech could place the electrodes in the wrong place at all. You have places on the scalp where those specific lettered electrodes are placed- those pick up and amplify your brain waves. If you didn't get a responce about that test- its probably because its normal. People pay for those tests- they cant just give you a half-ass test on a old, defective machine and expect you to be satified. It just doesn't happen like that.
I would seriously let your doctor or neuro know about these previous situations that have happened to you.
A doctor might have you on meds that are not going to work on your if you don't have Epilepsy or seizures related to it. Until you have a diagnosis of "complex partial seizures", you don't really know what it is. Sounds like a panic disorder or something else. I've never heard of anyone with complex partial seizures that can be triggered so easily by 7 different situations (the ones listed above).
You should give that list to your neurologist. Maybe an AEEG that you can wear home would pick up on any abnormalities such as getting home, sitting on the couch, as you mentioned as a trigger- or when you feel someone understands you, for example.
You never know what it will find.

Also if you feel that you have been poinsoned by something at work- ask to be tested, or get a blood test to look for chemicals that could cause you troubles.

I wish you luck in your search in finding whats really going on.

the first EEG I had done was pretty bad.

Tech was late.....

She put the electrodes on... started.... her phone rang I think twice (I know once for sure.. was a while ago so cnat remmeber if it was twice) during my EEG....

yeah.. pretty bad. The first one showed slight abnormality in left temporal lobe..not enough for diagnosis at that time... i was suprised actually becuase when I had my first EEG at that time I was only getting partial seizures on falling asleep or waking up, and I could not fall asleep during the test....

Crystal is right about the chemical test. It is a blood test that your family doctor can do called a toxicology blood test where the doctor can test for poisons in your blood. I had this performed by my family doctor. This helps rule out some possiblities that could cause seizures. She is right I would inform your doctor about the chemicals you used to work with. You just never know...

tam bam

OK...I found a neurologist about 100 miles away. It sounds like it will not be till after Christmas til I go..
But for now... I like the journal idea.
This Journal is a helpful idea. It will help me describe situations and with questions when I go to the doc. As if you did not know all ready.
I probably will only be able to understand it tho...haha

Could you please tell me what I may be missing or wrong in my notes. Or a different order..
-simple/complex partial -
-from Psychic seizures-
-triggered from Reflex Epilepsy-
-all with a big hug of the Temporal lobe-
& Dilantin is stopping it all from heading to a grandmal... Sound legit or just another RC. Note??
Any rearrangement? (if it may be worth the time)
