Today didnt start out the best for me. I was up for some reason all night last night. I kept tossing and turning all night long! I remember looking at the clock at round 5am, thinking I only have a couple hours til I had to get the kids up and ready for school.

I wake up, take the kids to school, and get back home. I layed back down again, and felt my jaw area feel sore and tight. The same feeling I get when I clinch my teeth during a seizure. I havnt had any headaches, but this morning I felt alittle tenderness in my collar bone and shoulder area again. I hope I didnt have a seizure during the night. That cardiologist thinks my pain I was experiencing a couple of weeks ago, was from the seizures I was having at night, and then waking up to soreness on my left side all day long. The pain wasnt there yesterday, and now its here today. I dont know if its seizure related, or gerd related either. I feel some slight discomfort in my center chest area today, where abouts my esophugus and stomach meet. But I cant do anything about that til the 15th when I go to the GI Dr.

I hope its nothing serious with my heart. My left side just feels weak and achy feeling. I'd rather have it be from a seizure than something more serious! :(

Can you take some pain reliever to help?

I took some ibuprophen a few hours ago, but it hasnt help any. Ive been trying to lay down and watch some tv, but my left shoulder is just aching so much. Im trying to figure out if I can find information online that says gerd can cause this?!

Thanks Nakamova! I will read that here soon! Im just praying it goes away soon!

I've been keeping a health/seizure diary for 3 months now, and I can't believe how often I have what you describe. My shoulders, neck, and jaw are very tight and sometimes downright painful in the mornings, sometimes throughout the day, and it IS after a night that I've been in and out of sleep! Now I too am wondering if it's seizure-related. I can't figure out any other trigger, as I keep a pretty thorough diary. If I figure out anything else, I'll let you know!

I think mine was related to the seizures I had when the PA put me on Hydroco and pantoprazole. I was taking the Hydroco starting the end of October, when I was told I had acute bronchitis. He prescribed it for me to help with the chest pain. But then he changed my gerd medication from Omeprazole to Pantoprazole, and within a day and a half, I started having seizures at night. I noticed in the morning when I woke up that my left side, shoulder area, neck area, etc would feel so tight and I would be in so much pain. I havnt taken any prescribed medications since I last went to the ER, which was on thanksgiving. So far the pain hasnt come back. My heart doctor thinks it was seizure related pain that I was experiencing.

That's how I knew I was having seizures. My arm was so sore. It felt like someone twisted my arm. Now my husband watches for it. Good thing too. I know telling anyone about the other weird sensations I get. Makes me feel like their is something else wrong with my brain though and it scares me.

Yeah it was my left side which is the side of my body that reacts to my seizures mostly where I was getting the soreness from. I didnt put the two together, til after I looked up both medications and saw when you have a seizure disorder, your risk for having seizures goes up, which in turn, my husband saw me having at night while I was sleeping. My husband is a very deep sleeper, but he woke up to find me having a seizure! Im just glad he was there to see it, and tell me.

Dont worry about your spelling! My spelling earlier was all out of wack!

My husband kept telling me something was going on with me in the night because I was shaking and waking up spaced out and snoring really strange like I couldn't breath. I told him he was crazy and then one morning I got up and felt weak in the legs and told him I felt sick and was going to stay home cause I didn't feel right and I went back to sleep and had a seizure but I ended up in the ER and in hospital for a day. I was so screwed up after. I couldn't talk or remember anything or anyone for about 2 weeks and my memory is crappy. I would see someone in the mall and wonder you they were after they stopped and talked to me. I kept saying I don't know when someone would ask me something because it was too hard to put words together. So like you, glad my husband noticed it because I didn't. Another time I had a seizure but I didn't know and bit the tongue off myself and went to the dr and he said it looked like shingles. When I started having a few more and biting my tongue my husband realized it was a seizure for sure. I can remember I was so tired and my arm and back was so sore.
