Amongst the many pills I'm taking, since being put on Clonazepam , September last year, or even tegretol, May last year, I've started to snort or sigh when silent or as I'm speaking. My GP tells me this is most probably a side effect of the medication I am taking.

Does any one here experience any thing similar?

:)

Is your breathing otherwise okay? No shortness of breath or wheezing?

I sigh too. People have asked about it and I just say pay no mind, it just happens..

Glad I'm not the only one. :)

Im on Tegratol 800mg as well as 2000mg off Epilim a day,i cant say i suffer from any any off the above side effects, but i suppose medication effects everyone in a diffrent way, especially in their side effects.

Since being on tegretol I feel I've been experiencing upper respiratory wheezing- info has it that tegretol can cause chest infections?

Thanks
:)

Yes it can lower your immune system and make you vulnerable to infection:

Severe Side Effects: Tegretol may cause wheezing, shortness of breath, swollen or painful glands and severe joint or bone pain. Swelling in the hands and feet is also possible. Tegretol may also cause your skin to be more sensitive to sunlight and UV rays. Wear sunscreen and appropriate clothing to limit your exposure.

Moderate Side Effects: Headache, blurred vision, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain are possible side effects. Muscle cramps in the legs, drowsiness or feelings of unsteadiness may also occur. Skin rashes, hives and white patchy areas on the skin should be reported to your physician if they become severe.

Mild Side Effects: Mild side effects of Tegretol include dry mouth, ringing in the ears and darkening of the urine. Tegretol can also decrease the effectiveness of the body's immune system. This will make the body more susceptible to infection and may increase the severity of wounds or injuries.
