I saw Great Big Sea and I thought...another Canadian! I was right! Those east coast boys sure do know how to pick up a mood! They even play on tvo kids sometimes and I get extra exposure! It is a good song!
I like "The Help" quote. It's very sweet. And I will always imagine the accent when I read it.
And I grew up watching Star Trek the next generation. I had a small crush on Jean-Luc Picard.
 
I'm more of a Voyager person... My friend and I had a small obsession over Tom Paris... and then he got married D:

More lyrics! I love it! The audioslave one is so true...to be yourself is all you can do.
The Hard Road I hadn't heard before...excellent Canadian highway reference BTW.
I like the life is how you live it and the got lost on the way but found your way again, stay true to your friends cause they'll save you in the end. And there's no road that ain't a hard road to travel on.
It's like a reference to don't judge someone until you've travelled a hundred miles in their shoes.
 
Here is another cheesy uplifter! My one little girl loves Hannah Montana and I've had to watch the movie many a time but I've grown to love "The Climb" and she even likes me to sing it to her as a lullaby. I can't belt it the way Miley Cyrus does but even sung softly it chokes me up a bit! I'm such a softie.

LJ.. well I don't think they're cheesy..but then again, i like cheesy songs and lyrics. and I love new country, it's my favorite genre of all that I listen to. that being said...here's another one from Sugarland that I love.

Hurray for more Sugarland! We all are hoping and wishing for our happy endings.
But you are right...I should embrace the fact that I like new country be it deemed cheesy or not. Lots of people do like it!
I know that Matchbox Twenty song so well! In college my lab partner and I got along but we didn't talk very much during class but she would hum this song all the time. Apparently she had been going through some mental health issues in her recent history and that song was a hit that summer and it struck a chord with her.
 


Yeah so this song makes me think of when a person has a seizure, and someone who was suppose to be there wasn't it and they don't help you or try to understand when they said that they would and that they'd be there, and then they weren't....
 
This version of Torn is pretty funny too. (It was for an Amnesty International benefit).
