Hi I'm new to this site hope for some input, iv had epilepsy since I was 12 (now 27) I had a seizure 3 days ago now and I'm still feeling very dizzy (odd feeling really almost an inside twitchy) I've never had this feeling for so long before and starting to get bit worked up as I only found out I'm also pregnant last week. Please has anyone got any advise for me please x

Hi Sarahsmiles welcome to CWE!

Was the recent seizure a tonic-clonic? If so, did you injure yourself in any way? Did you go to the ER, or change your meds? Have you made sure to eat and hydrate properly since the seizure? Any of those issues could cause lingering dizziness.

Another possibility is that the dizziness is also seizure activity, possibly related to your pregnancy. Estrogen spikes are a common seizure trigger, so your pregnancy may be lowering your seizure threshold in unexpected ways. You should definitely discuss things with your neurologist and your OB-GYN -- they should be on the same page in terms of medication and treatment during and after your pregnancy. And if you aren't already, you should be taking a folic acid supplement (especially if you are on any anti-seizure meds).

I hope the dizzy feelings go away, but you shouldn't hesitate to let your doctor(s) know how you are feeling.

Best,
Nakamova
