Stopping medication, how is memory?

Hey all. I would like to know, has any of you completely stopped taking epilepsy medication (tegretol, lamictal, or any other med seriously affecting memory)?

If so, does short term memory get better? do you start remembering things better? Do you stop being clumsy?

I have stopped taking tegretol, depakote, tried weaning off dilantin, and yes the memory does seem affected greatly in my case. After a while it seems to become better, I couldn't say all of it but enough that I cant tell the difference, coming off those drugs are hard, I was going through it with dilantin but had an allergic reaction to the aed I was changing too
 
Thats great news. There is a big history of alzheimer in my family, so at least now i have some hope of enjoying my memory at some point, before it degenerates again.

Make sure you talk to your neuro before you stop taking any meds. It could make things worse, possibly having more seizures.
