This afternoon when I was at Starbucks waiting for my drink, I happened to look over to a woman hanging a poster on the bulletin board. The poster caught my attention because it said SUDEP Awareness. I went over and introduced myself to her and it turns out she is the mother who lost her daughter to SUDEP back in 2009, so now is doing fundraisers for those with epilepsy and need seizure-response dogs.
It was such an experience to actually speak to someone who has lost a loved one to SUDEP and how she is now dealing with it. I am going to help with their fundraiser. She was so sweet and said they would help me out if I ever need it.
The doctor never told them it could happen.
