Okay...I know this has been asked before.
But has anyone had any luck with vitamins or supplements for hair loss associated with AEDs? I have taken topiramate for about 8 months now and it helps so I don't want to get off of it...and I don't think I want to try Rogaine yet but I have heard that Biotin helps. Has anyone had success with it?
I have heard of people taking Biotin and sometimes Selenium with it.

While we're talking specifically about topiramate, does anybody else take anything else to counteract side effects? Perhaps calcium? They are slowly upping my dose you see and I know that water water water is helpful but I was just wondering what else floats other people's boats.

Cheers to you all. Thanks in advance!

I take Biotin and selenium and didn't experience hair loss until I hit 200 mgs--but the only thing that slowed the hairloss was reducing Topamax after that point. In my case though topamax was giving me dangerously low levels of potassium and it may have been the low potassium that was causing the hairloss--be sure to eat high potassium foods in case it is that. If topamax is causing you to significantly lose weight and decrease your eating, the loss of calories, proteins and fats can also cause hair loss.
