I have been wondering, particularly for those who have auras that involve a taste or smell--I've heard people describe a popcorn smell--if you then smell that smell or taste that taste later, does it also trigger a seizure for you?

I don't have the aura smells/tastes, but sometimes if I think about how my auras feel, it will actually trigger a mini-aura. It seems psychosomatic to me. Similar to the way when some sort of food or smell makes you sick to your stomach, then later you can't tolerate that food or smell again without it making you sick.

My triggers are sleep deprivation/exhaustion, stress, extreme commotion, and being startled. Hubby always jokes about spiders because I get startled by seeing a spider and then have a seizure. It seems to be an adrenaline link. I stopped going on rollercoasters, for example, because I would get simple partials from them.

I have different auras, I started with a burning toast smell. I don't have that any more now though and they have changed to sight and sound auras.
I do also have seizures when startled, unexpected loud noises without warning. Smoke alarm is my worst!!
