I'm writing up a paper to take to my dr to explain where I'm having pain due to a back problem. One place that I'm having the pain is under my butt cheeks and I'm wondering how you would word that for a dr? I asked my husband and he said "I don't know, your ass cheeks" (pardon the language), but I really don't think that's how you would say it to the dr :roflmao:

How should I word it?

That's what I'm doing but I wanted to be able to say where it is too.

I've got sharp paid, regular pain and numbness. The pain in general is in my back, thighs, hips, under my butt cheeks. The numbness is in different a few different places.

I've got all three words highlighted in different colors then highlighted in the same color on the picture showing where the pain is. I'm just wondering how to word "butt cheeks"?

do you think putting 'lower buttocks' would be ok? I want to word it in something that I'll remember. If I make it too technical I'll be asking the dr where that is.

Butt = Glutes, gluteals so that would be fine.

What is wrong with butt? You could use buttocks I suppose, but believe me, the doctor has heard it all!

look into sciatica.you usually get pain in those areas

I have a herniated disk. I have pain in my back. The pain is also in my thighs, hips and under my butt. My calf and knee are numb. The dr said that's normal.

I got steroid shots in my back yesterday. Not really sure if it's working yet because I haven't done much walking around, dr said to take it easy for a few days. It's hurting where I got the shots, but he said that's usually normal.

Had a seizure on the way home from the hospital a few hours after getting the shots. Hope it doesn't cause more.

Doesn't sound pleasant. Were the shots cortisone? They should help.

It was a 8mg depomedrol (steroid) and 3ml of 2% sensorcaine injection. I looked on the internet and didn't see that it contained any cortisone.

I had constant pain in one side of my back that is gone now that I've gotten the injection. But when I start moving around then my lower back, hips, thighs and under my butt start to hurt.

The dr said that it may take more than one shot to help, and I might have to get them on a regular basis. If not then I might have to consider back surgery.

No more seizures though since I've gotten it, that's one good thing!
