Sorry you are going through that. Sometimes I felt I would rather be unconscious with a seizure than experience the bad memories. That sounds rude I am sure with those people that cannot remember their seizures.
 
I feel absolute terror and fear/dread during my auras/sp. I hear voices and singing although I can't understand what they are saying.
Sometimes my mouth locks shut and I feel like I can't breath but I know I can,my arm go stiff.I just have to lay there and wait for it to pass.
It's a horrible thing that we all have to go through :(
 
How long do those dreadful fearful sensations last? Also are you aware there is really nothing to fear but nothing will stop it? Mine would last 30 seconds or so and gradually get better over the next few minutes.
 
I don't have any concept of time but I would say it roughly a minute and then I just lay there for a bit.
When I feel it coming on I always lay down incase it goes further and that way I don't fall and smash my head open which I've done before.
I am aware that there is nothing to fear during them but I have other ones were I have felt such sadness and at the end of it have had tears so I must find it hard to 'not feel it' at the time.
I also have this really weird rushing feeling.if I'm walking and one starts it feels like I'm running,if I'm brushing my hair,it feels like I'm doing it at full speed.it's really bizarre.
 
have had simple partial seizures since 21/10/2012 - diagnosis mede on 14/01/2013 - am on valproic acid - would like to know how it takes for meds to work - the seizures are still present but not as intense and are not accompanied by that `impending feeling of doom`- daily seizures which are still numerous
 
I was diagnosed 3 and half years ago and tried tegretol,keppra,topamax and epilim but my auras/simple partials never went away but my complex partials did.
I have been on topamax and epilim together since Xmas and have only had 1 aura/simple p!!!!!! Fingers crossed I've found the right mix.

To nazir - Welcome! Every case is very different but here is my experience. I tried 3 medications in different doses and combinations over the course of 2 years and seizures were slightly better. Then a new neurologist said I was taking too much for the little relief I was getting. When he put me on a new med Clonazepam, it took 3 months to see any affects. From then on I have been freed of this misery. Note-I think the more often you have seizures the easier it is to see if it is working. Mine were not often so I think it took longer. I can't give info about you but I hope that helps. Be patient but I wouldn't wait as long as I did. Since you have them often, maybe you will see results faster. Hang in there!
 
There is no specific time. Sounds like you are getting some relief. Keep communicating with your neurologist. I think you need more medication or you need to let this medication work longer.
