The other night I had insomnia so bad, I didn't get to sleep until around 6am. I just lay in bed with my eyes open for hours. At around 4am I moved to the living room and just sat and stared out the window. I didn't want to turn the tv on in case it woke up my son. I was surprised at how many cars drove past my apartment building at that time of night/morning. Finally at 6 I tried to get to sleep again and had some success. Thankfully that doesn't happen a lot to me...

Do any of you with sleep issues also have any growths on or around the pineal gland in your brain? I've got a fairly large (although I'm told it is still considered "safe") pineal cyst, at 15-16mm. Considering the pineal gland produces melatonin and regulates sleeping cycles, I'm thinking that might be the problem in my case. I usually have some difficulty getting to sleep, but it's always hard to get out of bed in the morning for me.
