My epilepsy is hereditary. It's been in our family for four generations. The other heath problem is stroke. I've heard that the only relation between the two is that stroke can cause seizures. In my family, 2 have died of stroke (grandfather and uncle both before age 60). My father has had 2 major strokes and numorous "bleeds". My sister has had TIA(?) strokes. All of the above had/have epilepsy since birth or at from an early age. What happens is the seizures always get worse at about age 45, then the strokes start. Is this scenario familiar to anyone? My son has epilepsy now as well. I've lost my health insurance recently so I haven't been in touch with a neurologist for a while-I've left messages and emails, but no response yet. Any/all info appreciated!
