How many of you out there have a big issue with bright lights and/or are photosensitive??? I am one of those people...ironically though I can still watch movies and play video games and enjoy the sun (FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY!!!)...and of course type here on the computer...but my point being is that my vision seems to be getting worse (as is my hearing...go figure)...and that I have headaches all the time now (currently investigating this) and thinking about getting some shades...though I suspect the vision/hearing thing may have something to do with the headaches...that and getting older hahaha...but I am wondering can I just pick up any shades or do they need to be prescription??? I know only my doctor/neurologist can give me the best answer but I am just wanting to know what you guys think anyways...

Whatever they are I want them to be so comfortable (and sexy) it's like I'm not wearing anything at all...my only fear is...will such glasses mess with my perception of light and other things???

You're not alone.

I have my laptop and tablet brightness reduced to the lowest setting, I can't watch television w/o the ceiling light on, because the brightness of the television in a dark room is too much for my eyes.

A few months ago, I had a doctors appointment and was in the waiting room with several other patients and there was a ceiling light that was flickering, out of ten other ceiling lights that were not flickering.

That one bad light, cause me such a headache, to the point that my eyelid started to twitch, I had to wait outside for the next three hours, until my name was called.

Yep same here with the brightness settings...always on minimum...but still sometimes not dim enough (it's not like they make specially modified computers for epileptic's...or do they???)...and kind of the same here with the tv thing...I don't watch tv tv but I do watch movies occasionally but the max amount of time on a given day would be around 3 hours...my wife doesn't like to have a secondary light on as ironically it gives her a headache but we work out our differences and she understands my sensitivities lol...and if it were me 5 years ago I'd probably smash that ****** light...but today I am more calm and rational :D

Bright lights are a real pita for me too. I only allow soft white bulbs in my home. Even with that, I only use 40w in my room. Anything higher is just too bright. TV's and computer screens don't bother me. If they did, I'd be in real trouble. lol I've always worn sunglasses day & night outside. Sunlight has always been a problem. Since '00 I've worn Rx glasses. with transition lenses. That makes going outside less of a hassle at times. The headaches are a regular thing for most of us.

Grab a pair UV protected glasses for now. But you can go see eye doctor about Rx sunglasses & computer glasses. It will take a while to get adjusted to difference in the lighting when wearing sunglasses. But it's worth it not having your eyes hurt.

Yeah I actually use a "dark light" in my room/music studio so it works out quite well :D ...I have some cheap plastic sunglasses but they aren't very comfortable and were only intended for temporary use...I need something very comfortable/durable because I'll get a headache if I can feel tightness/pressure from the glasses on my face not to mention if they break...well that sucks...but that is highly unlikely since I actually take care of my stuff unlike most people...but yeah accidents happen...anyway did you know that if you are trying to make Vitamin-D the natural way by getting some sun and you have sunglasses on it won't happen...the reason being is because your eyes need to be able to register to your brain that you're taking in sunlight so your body can start making Vitamin-D...it's all about proper communication...and it depends on your skin tone...if you are very light complected then you probably only need about 5-10 minutes max...I am more of a light-medium tone so I need about 15-20 minutes...darker toned people might need anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour in order to make Vitamin-D...and yes Vitamin-D is EXTREMELY important for us with "E"...

and I didn't know there was such a thing as "computer glasses" lol...I'll definitely have to ask my doctor about those when I go for my follow up..."Yes I'd like a prescription for a comfortable (and sexy) pair of computer sunglasses please" 8)

I have horrible photo sensitivity . I am on Diamox which they no longer use but I would die without it and trileptal . I had the computer . It is on dark then a screen over it . I can not watch flatscreen tv so that is very hard . I can not have florescent light in my house . I keep my shades closed a lot . I wear sunglasses everywhere . I can't have ceiling fans . The stores bother me very bad , most are cold verses soft lighting . The one thing though is that my hearing is way to good and also my smelling . I really feel like I am secluded at evry house I go to .
