Hey, I've seen this has been discussed before but there isn't much info in regards to UK medicines for cold/flu/sinus problems. A cold started on Monday and since yesterday has gone onto my sinuses, now the doctors won't prescribe antibiotics until after 7 days but what else is safe to take? I've taken Lemsip all in one without caffeine, which does have a decongestant and expectorant innit without any problems but I'm just worried since reading up what could be a trigger.

Well they treat sinus same in uk as states and same medication.try Vicks or boots nasal spray. You be ok with lemsip don't worry

You could try steaming your face, it works.

Saline nasal irrigation devices like "Netirinse" also can be very helpful. They do not contain medication that can cause rebound nasal congestion like medicinal nasal sprays can. I also agree with Fedup's idea of steaming.

I just been given something called Neilmed sinus rinse I think it new out on market.Just been given it but not need it as yet.Got get starter kit written on box preserver kit all natural relief includes 10 premixed sachets makes 2.000ml solution.Ph balenced.i reading this off side of box.Going to use it later,I let you know.
Website Neilmed .com / directions. It all natural

I had kit all of 2hours just psyching me self up to stick it up me nose

Thanks all!

Seagull, I'll definitely give that a go, let me know how it is. I bit the bullet and took the lemsip capsules, ive had two lots and feel a lot better with nothing bad happening. Ive also steamed with some olbas oil which helped too. I guess the worry for me is that I'm notorious for seizing when I'm ill so want to get better ASAP but also don't want to take anything that'll make me seize, it's a double edged sword.

I used all them things over the years but thought you meant lemsip drink.i have to say stuff like night nurse psydo mix not so good with e but won't harm you but don't work for me with sinus but the spray and drops do I think bc it treats it locally on the congested blood vessels,I even tried the beetroot juice up nose a radio naturalist homeopath thought it best stuff but I beg to disagree.
Anything with anti histomin can effect e but not on everyone.for me sudofed and benoliyn have side effects but I doubt it reaction in my case e and medication but I not be 100% about it...like everything horses for courses

Neti Pot, up to several times a day, steamy bathroom, decongestant. I have a sinus infection right now and all of the above helps to some degree.
