I will try to translate for you, if you are specific--but you have to teach me UK football.........URG. I don't understand that. *eyeroll* Excuse me, that's soccer!

Quarterback: the play-caller who gets the ball and throws it to another player, usually called the wide receiver.

Wide receiver: runs a pattern on the field, usually down and away from the quarterback to "receive" the ball and run it for yardage, hopefully for a touchdown in the goal area. TDs are worth 6 points.

"Pats" that Nak refers to are the New England Patriots, an NFL (National Football League team)

Denver has a team called the Broncos, an NFL team--and John Elway played for them.

Vikings refers to the Minnesota Vikings, another NFL team.

Colts (you'll occasionally see me talk about this) are the Indianapolis Colts, and Peyton Manning is their quarterback.

St. Louis Rams, Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, San Diego Chargers, and the Oakland ....oh, I can't recall the name, are all NFL teams.

There are 28 NFL teams if I recall correctly.

TDs refer to touchdowns, extra points are exactly that--a kick after the TD to get an extra point. A safety earns 2 points after the touchdown.

You'll hear lots of talk about different players--you're best off just Googling them to understand who they are. If you're still confused, just ask We'll translate. :)

Hope that helped a little.........

Love it. The past 3 weeks they have played with their pants down but now that they pulled up their big boy NFL pants, lets see if they can keep them on. Go Broncos!

I have to say, the Broncs have definitely improved. It will be quite a game next weekend against my Patsies.

Wes is worth loving! And The Gronk is fun to watch too.

Oh my goodness! Their defense didn't even show up and the offense forgot how to play football! They got owned ;( well it was a good season and they get a full off season to come back and do great things next year. So now that that is done, I am pulling for the Pats to make it to the Super Bowl now and the 49ers to not. Hopefully it shall work out that way.

I was surprised that the Broncs couldn't get it going considering how well they played last week. It's as if the long passes TT made against the Steelers were a fluke. But he improved tons this season, so maybe next year he'll be more consistent.

I'm rooting for the Pats too of course. if they stay healthy, I think they definitely have a chance.

Oh, please don't get me wrong. The broncos are my team. But I can't root for them if they aren't playing. It's like the saying, the two best teams in the NFL, the Broncos and whoever is playing Oakland, lol. Right now out of the teams still in it I like NE most. The NFC teams have crappy attitudes and I don't like the Ravens. Plus Brady is a solid leader and a great QB. Just my two cents. :P

Hi Meetz1064,

to be honest I don't really follow football, be that English or otherwise... I may watch the game if it's the World Cup and England are playing so there's nothing I can teach you!
:(l

The NFC teams have crappy attitudes...

:dontknow: You're definitely entitled to your opinion but I'm just curious what made you come to that conclusion?

I'd love to see a Pats vs Giants Super Bowl. :woot:

Better luck next year, Broncos..lol.

So now that that is done, I am pulling for the Pats to make it to the Super Bowl now and the 49ers to not. Hopefully it shall work out that way.

And hopefully the Pats will get beat once again!

I'm high up in the mountains right now.... Winter Park, Colorado. Watching it snow and snow and snow..........

All right, I guess I can understand... Aside from last year's Halloween weekend snowstorm, we haven't seen any lasting snowflakes in the Boston area this winter. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch.

I woulda sworn you were in Fla Cint..lol..dang I'm forgetful . I bet it's beautiful there. Dallas is so lame, as far as scenery. I'm born and raised here and have always disliked the Cowboys. As a Cowboy hater, I have to pull for the Giants, their big division rivals. :D

It will be a great game if it's Giants vs Pats in the Super Bowl...if it's Ravens vs 49ers, I won't really care who wins. I'm a huge football fan, but those 2 teams don't really do it for me.

Can't wait for the weekend. Hope my teams do good. I admit, I'm a little scared for the Giants....but confident in the Patriots. (knock wood, lol)
