Hi,

I am very worried. I have seizures and am on Trileptal. Just recently I noticed my left pinky seems to twitch on occasion. Not tremor. It will just have one jump and that's it. What can cause this? Is this a sign of Parkinsons? I do feel a slight weakness down that arm on that side recently but nothing that has even slightly inhibited my normal activities. Any ideas? Someone mentioned my B12 levels. Is that possible? I appreciate help. I already made an appointment with my dr.

Thanks again,
Erin

I doubt it's Parkinsons (which tends to be more of a tremor). It may be a Trileptal side effect, or seizure activity, or it may just be a benign result of stress/anxiety/fatigue/muscle overexertion. Sometimes dietary issues (like too much caffeine, or not enough magnesium) can be a factor, so your diet might need a closer look.

I have something simillar in my left hand, sometimes my whole hand will move uncontrollable, other times my fingers or my hand just shakes, this aparentaly is nerves or so the doctors told me, can be side effect of the drugs even though its not stated so talk to the doctors, I found out too late.

Thank you, both! I read these the moment I got them and they made me feel better. I really appreciate your expertise.

Just as another thought, sometimes carpal tunnel will make your fingers twitch like that, especially if your job requires you to stay hooked up to a computer all day, which mine does.

its a seizure. i asked my doc and she said my eye twitch is antoher symptom of my seizures. see your doc but i would bet its the same thing. be thankful it isnt the lip smacking or taking off your clothes.

I had a time when I was very stressed for about a month. My arms, legs, fingers, and or feet would shake. Sometimes it was very bad, as if I was having a TC in that part of my body, and sometimes it was a slight twitch that would last for an hour.

After the stress went away I was fine and the shaking stopped.
