I don't ordinarily have this problem, but I took my pills about an hour ago, and my insides are on fire! Took a Zantac and eating saltines to see if I can make it go away. Not fun!

So since this isn't something I generally have had issues with, I have to assume it's from the Vimpat. I usually eat with my pills, but I don't always--it doesn't seem to make a difference. Also, I had taken a snack maybe an hour before taking them, so my stomach can't have been totally empty. But I guess I will have to be sure to eat plenty before taking them.

As a side note, do any of you find that you sometimes have trouble focusing your eyes when on the meds? I have been known to get blurred or double vision, and room scrolling, when on various AEDs. On my regimen recently (the most I have ever taken), I get a "buzzed" feeling and some slight blurriness, but the last couple days (since increasing my Vimpat by 50 mgs), I find my eyes will "pop" out of focus at random. I will be watching a show, for example, and suddenly the screen will get a little fuzzy. Not all the way blurry, but just soft around the edges. So I can still see, but not as well. Then I have to make an effort to focus back to normal again. I also find focusing my eyes in general, just around the house and whatnot, takes effort (not extreme effort, but conscious effort) rather than being an automatic thing.

I have wondered if I just need to see an eye doctor, but it occurred to me that maybe it's actually a side effect. Thoughts?

Yes,i have had blurry vision, also complete double vision on a few occasions.Im not to sure what causes this as it is not a regular problem, but like yourself im pretty sure i need to visit the eye doctor, but just aint got round to it.I really dont know if its my meds because it has not happened that much in the great scheme of things.

pretty sure its the meds. I got a good amount of tracers and fuzzy vision with keppra. Though my vision was better on it then off. So I don't know if they could be auras or what at this point. I had my vision checked out for new glasses back in the summer and everything was ok. So thats my guess.

Thanks, guys. I bet it's the meds. Taking them 3x/day makes it hard to tell if it's a SE because there's never that break in between doses where the SEs minimize. So it's pretty much constant.
