Went to the neurologist yesterday. It went OK, unfortunately when the hyperventilation test took place, about seconds in, my vision became blurred and I became a little dizzy. Afterwards, I apparently went into a blank state and became unresponsive. After it was over, I felt tired and when I got down from the table, I was disoriented, confused and "out of body" type experience(not sure if it was a seizure or not) These effects went away after an hour or so.

So as of now, an EEG will be scheduled within the upcoming weeks. Clean hair, no caffeine after 12 and no more than 5 hours of sleep.

With me, not being sure if I've had a seizure is usually a sign that I have had one. If you did that's great that it happened right in front of the neurologist.

Good luck with it showing up on your EEG. Bring a book or something to do to kill time, you're probably going to have to do the breathing test again & the strobe light test.

It's no fun to feel lousy, but it's great to have your symptoms actually witnessed by the doc.

I had a sleep-deprived EEG a couple of weeks ago. I stayed up until 2am reading, and then I set the alarm for 5am. Worked fine, though I felt pretty knocked out for the next few days. Though my seizures are controlled by meds, the EEG still showed abnormal brainwaves in both temporal lobes, which means I'm not tapering down any time soon...
