When I'm not having a seizure and use the magnet I'll start coughing like crazy.

If I'm having a seizure, where I blank out, and someone uses the magnet on me I won't cough. I might a little when I come out of the seizure.

When I feel like I'm going to have a seizure and use the magnet I won't cough. Does this mean I was having a seizure?
 
Is your Magnet Mode setting higher than the normal stimulation setting? If so, that might make you want to cough. I don't know for sure, but I imagine if you were having a seizure or even about to have one your body might react differently than it does when you're not in seizure mode. I presume your doc or the Cyberonics people would know more, but that's my shot in the dark! Let me know if you find the answer.
 
When my VNS was on I couldn't use the magnet because I didn't have auras.

I always used the magnet before went to bed because I had nocturnal seizures and my VNS doc told me to. I would cough like crazy when I used it.
