i have just had a video eeg done at an epilepsy monitoring unit, and didnt have s eizure while i was there, dr's were not sure if i have epilepsy, nes or both.
what will happen now because i didnt have a seizure, i do know that i had some abnormal brain activity but dr's have said that before (it had been non specific)

My daughter did not have a seizure either while undergoing a VEEG
In my non medical opinion...you are having seizures, whether they be epileptic or not really doesn't matter TO ME. You need to work on finding the cause of them. Personally, if I had to do it ALL over again, I would have started my daughter on diet immediately. The drugs messed her up SO MUCH in the beginning that it turned our life upside down.
We did not start nutritional changes until she was well on her way into her second medication. It is well known to heal a lot of neurological disorders.

I know others are helped in the sort term with the medication ...

70% of patients with seizures the cause is unknown. I have learned that YOU have to be your own advocate for your recovery / control / cure... what every you want to call it.
If you had years prior without seizures, then you have to return your body back to a healthy place so that it won't need to resort to this. I am sure that you must be frustrated. It was a crazy time for me too.

I recommend that you read Epilepsy:A New Approach.

Lots of people who have epilepsy fail to get any seizures recorded during a VEEG. It just means that test was inconclusive. Sorry it didn't provide any answers for you.

As far as the road ahead, I agree with Robin - I'd get proactive.

Yes, I have had 3 video EEG's. My first one did show the area my left temporal lope that the seizures were starting from. The last two nothing. I do have E, no tests for many years showed nothing, however I was diagnosed with E. since my surgery in 2004, and the seizures have returned the last 2 showed nothing.

I wish you the best of luck.
