I saw my neuro again today. I have been seeing him every two months since last December. I seem to have gone from you might have TLE to "partial epilepsy with impairment of consciousness, with intractable epilepsy". My EEGs and MRIs have been normal ... he is basing this on my conversations with him about the episodes I have been having. I tried Topamax and am now trying Lamictal. I had a seizure at the beginning of the month. My DH thought I was having a bad dream. Well ... my neuro says that it wasn't a bad dream it was a seizure. I think he said that it fell into the tonic clonic category. Not what I wanted to hear. So far (that I know of) I have only had partials.

I am having some blood work done next week to check my Lamictal level. He seemed concerned about it, especially with that last seizure. It occurred when I was taking 50mg twice a day. I am now at what may be a therapeutic level (100mg twice a day). I guess we will see what the vampire at the lab has to say. This is frustrating. No one wants to talk about it. On the plus side, I really like my neuro.

Well, sounds like progress of a sort, and it's nice that you like your neuro. I hope the higher Lamictal dose gets things under control. Keep us posted!
