vns surgery - has anyone had the battery wear out within 3 yrs.?
Mine is set on the lowest stimulation too...pretty strange.
 
It happens. One moderator on my site has to have her unit replaced about every 15 months because of the high settings. A good neuro will keep an eye on the battery life. Should you show any sudden changes in your seizures get to the dr. asap and have the unit evaluated.
 
I think my neuro said that mine would last somewhere around 5 years, but as someone else mentioned, it depends on how strong your implant is set. If it is at a higer setting than it will use more than it would at a lower setting.
