Haven't been around in a while, I now live in western PA and have a good job. Still see some familiar faces here. Hello to all!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

I just had a stay in the UPMC Presbyterian hospital epilepsy monitoring unit for 3 days. I got out quick because taking me off and putting me back on my Depakote does really bad things to me. They're putting me on Vimpat and taking me off Depakote so here's hoping for a brighter future!

I was put on Vimpat after becoming allergic to tegretol and the vimpat has really helped my absence and
complex partial seizures a lot. The one thing I didn't like about the vimpat is that in the beginning I would
get a rapid heartbeat and I was just sitting down not doing anything.

If you want to find the best seizure med for yourself ask your neurologist to do a DNA test on you and by
doing that the neuro will be able to find the best seizure med for you with the least side effects or it will
show if a person is drug resistant. One thing that has helped me a lot is the medical marijuana. My Epileptologist
told me to start using it and it made a big difference in my seizures.
I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue
