I had a really bad dream the other day that may have been a nocturnal seizure. I saw a kid go through everything I had as a young teen with e. Academic and social struggles, dissociative issues, injuries, etc. But the kid had no one to help them. It got me thinking about things that can be done to help and support others with e.

Coming up I had no connection to any Foundations or local events, due to internal denial of my diagnosis. Any suggestions?

Perhaps the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters organization could pair you up with a kid with e.

I so wish that I had had the resources of this forum when I was 22 and first having seizures.

Maybe you could volunteer at a local hospital? It would be less appropriate to share your own SPECIFIC experiences with the kids there depending on the hospital's guidelines and the family's comfort level, but you could give your time and support to kids with all different types of health struggles.

Accepting one's diagnosis takes a lot of courage and strength and "giving back" is a very admirable way to express your strength and courage, Mr.21T. Congrats!

I thought of a couple of ideas for giving back:
-You could arrange a community garage sale with proceeds going towards supporting youths with epilepsy, such one of many camps for kids with seizures. Or maybe there is even a particular child in your community you know of who would like to attend a special camp but cannot afford to do so.
-the hospital nearest to you that has an epilepsy unit would likely appreciate funds: you could specify what you would like the money to go towards.

Camp Boggy Creek is in FL and accepts donations. They also have events and fundraisers
