Went to new epi yesterday

So went to new epi yesterday,
he decided not to agree/male any desicons on my seizures untill they do a veeg, he wants to do a 3-5 day hospital stay veeg which I'm fine with but its on their teerms only which he wants it next week (we have no daycare) I'm the daycare, my wifes vacation doesnt start till october and he kept pushing me that she didnt need to be there or the kidsand not listening that we had no one to watch the kids unless she was home and that she was the only one working.
Has anyone else had this issue where no one was listened to when you had to have test run but you couldnt due to issues beyond your control?

Aarrgh -- sometimes it's as if the docs are wearing earplugs, isn't it? I would call his office back, explain the problem, and finding out if there's any scheduling flexibility due to your childcare situation. Can the test be run over the weekend? Ask if the hospital has any social resources or affiliated daycares.

Aside from that -- do you have any neighbors, family members, church friends, etc. that could help out with the daycare?

oh he heard me and said we'll wait but it's not best for you or your pri=ovider to wait that long , and if you have to wait that long you'll have to go through a complete re-eval and see where you are at, again at that time, to see where everything is at at that time, to see the time frame of testing we'd need to do, and then goes on to state, it could be less depending on if you have the kind of seizure we want to see on the veeg you could be in for only a day it just depends on your body, then I counter with him, and say so on the other side of the coin your saying I could be in for over 5 days if nothing happens? and he goes possible yes, I then tell him well then its not a feasible test since my wifes vacation is only 5 days long and we have no daycare to watch our children and the only person who could is her sister and she would charge us money to wactch her own family so unless you are going to pay our rent and her sister to watch my kids then you'll have to help me help me. and work with us in some form, and I told him when her vaction starts I'll give you a call and set it up and we'll go from there.

Unfortunately, due to insurance constraints, he may be right about having to re-evaluate if you wait until October for the vEEG. But I would still try and exhaust other resources first to make this happen sooner. How about requesting a 2.5-day weekend vEEG, with no extension due to family considerations. keep pushing -- your doc has to accept that you live in the real world with real constraints.

I'll try that once I know when I know I dont have my girls again, and i dont have another week chock full of apts like this one rofl!, today is my mri fri is my shrink and may get my dx that i got form my talk doc mths ago which will help when i go to my alj hearing i told th epi about this site and how its helped my and he stated that if its been good in kkeeping my depression down then its a good place to be for me!

Ugh... life !!! Mike hang in there. I'm always impressed how you put your family first and how close you all seem to be in reading your posts. Your family life stands out and thats so cool. I know this will work itself out. Its probably not an option, but can your wife get fmla (family medical leave act) in your state? We have it in california. Its protected time off to care for self or an immediate relative. I don't know if shes already on thin ice with the job because of prior time off for your health issues. If so, this may not be a good option. Or maybe she could work modified hours just for those days. Get the kids to school then work then get off just a bit early to pick them up. Or have someone else pick them up for just that week until she gets home? Or after school care for those days? Just ideas??? I realize its summer. Don't know if you have year round school there.

we'd need 24 hour a day daycare no year round school sadly i'd be so happy if we did! (not that I dont love my kids)(just they are so hyper!), and yes she's kinda on this ice, but not really she's trying to advance so taking 3-5 days off would shoot that in the foot if she did that but thanks so much for the extra thoughts on things i didn't think of with fmla, I just wish her sister wasnt such a you know what! and charging family to help out I've never once did that to her or anyone else in the family ever in my life they'd hide it and make me take the money but I never made them pay me. But thank you all for all the kind words.
