So I am in a dilemma...

I currently have a full time job in a call-center that I HATE and are stuck at so I can BARELY make my house payment and of course bills, while not being able to save for retirement at all. How can someone in my situation afford to keep paying these?

Where I do not have enough seizures to qualify for SSDI, but yet slowed down because of the medications (controlled by Trileptal and Lamictal) so getting any sort of high paying job is a struggle. I currently have no kids and are not married. I am divorced because of my epilepsy and have a girlfriend.

It's horrible to say, but there are times where I wish my epilepsy was worse and not controlled by meds so I could collect SSDI.

I've shared this question with many many people and no one has an answer for me? Can anyone help me out?

That's an issue that is common to more people than you might think. There are two potential solutions:
  1. Increase income
  2. Decrease expenses
The trick is figuring out how to do either while balancing an acceptable quality of life.

If the house payments are a significant share of your overall expenses, is selling and moving to a less expensive place an option? What about subletting (taking on a tenant/roommate)?

Thank you for responding Bernard

Unfortunately my house isn't big enough to sublet and don't want to sell it.
I may have to think about another source of income if possible. I do work from home, but don't have many hobbies. I work 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Are there other work-from-home jobs you could do on a part-time basis in the afternoons? Things like computer programming, proofreading, data entry, online academic tutor...

It would be very difficult for something at afternoon/night. I like to spend time with the gf at night. They work during the day (she's a full time Middle School teacher). But I may be able to find something.
