I usually take my medicine at 6:30 every am to take my medicine even if I go back to sleep. I take 1500 mg of keppra and 100 mg of lambotrgoine. Sometimes I have to wake up before my medicine time like 3-5 am. 90% of the time when thishappens I have a seizure. It keeps me from doing alot of important things. Anyways i'm curious as to what yall do when yall have to do this.

Thanks, Matson

I take Lamictal 900 mg, Dilantin 350 mg and Keppra 2,500 mg., at five every morning. My body is set to wakeup at that time.. even on the weekends. It sounds like your med levels aren't high enough to carry you through the night. Talk to your neuro and see if he/she will up them.

Hi Matson (and welcome!),
I agree with P-Funk -- if your meds can't keep you seizure-free during a triggering event -- esp. one that happens from time to time -- then upping the dose might help.

If upping your meds isn't an option, maybe look at ways to de-stress the early wake-up process. When do you actually have the seizure? Is the alarm clock triggering? The shower? Do you have the seizure immediately upon waking, immediately as you get out of bed, or a bit later? Depending on when the seizures happen, you might want to try making some adjustments -- for instance, get a gentle, progressive alarm, or consider taking some of your meds when you wake up and some at the later time. Or try doing progressive breathing and stretching before actually getting out of bed. Or eat a little something to see if that might help.

Best,
Nakamova
