So, I've had 10 TCs this year (since January 2012)...and we've definitely figured out when they're happening. There is something else going every now and then, usually leading up to a TC. It might happen 2 or 4 days before.

My husband describes it this way -- it's always in my sleep --

My heart races, sometimes my foot shakes, and sometimes my fingers drum on my pillow. He will ask me if I'm ok, and I don't usually respond, if I do it's incoherent. I never remember it.

Lets see ... on January 27th I had a tc. Then on the 29th I had the activity described above. And then on the 31st, described activity at 3 am and then starting at 8 am I had 4 tcs.

Anyway, I've been waiting to hear back from my doctor so I haven't been able to bounce this off of anyone with any kind of medical training, figured I'd ask you guys for some help.

Do you mean since January 2013? That many tcs would wipe me out. My partial szs are bad enough. I'm having one right now as I type this. Best to you!

No, sorry I edited that. 10 since Jan 2012 but I've had 5 this year alone.

((hugs)) Hope you recover quickly!

Five this year is a lot. My partial one is passing pretty quickly. Thanks for the hugs, I'm sending some to you right now, too! (( ))

Alright, this is just getting more and more confusing. And I fully admit to this likely being a case of "reading too much into it"

Night before last my husband said that he tried to get me to scoot over closer to him because he was cold...and he said that I replied with "no, gonna puke" and that I was sweaty/clammy and my heart was racing. I don't remember this AT ALL. Vomiting is practically a fear, I know no one likes to puke, but it still scares me. (I get super pissed when I puke after a tc) So, if I felt like I was going to be sick, what I usually do is beg for a cold cloth, and then some towels so I can camp out in a corner of the bathroom (yep, 30 yr old baby!)

So, now I'm left wondering (reading into) was this a seizure?? Obviously it wasn't a tc. But, wtf body?! WTF?!

I find that seizure stuff at night is particularly confusing, since it's hard to differentiate what is a dream or nighttime confusion and what is seizure activity. My rule of thumb, though, is that if I think or feel that it is some sort of epilepsy-related thing it probably is. Does that seem to fit for you? Clamminess, a racing heart, a feeling of nausea, and amnesia for the whole event is certainly consistent with a seizure, though.

As always, best of luck sorting it out!

I don't know, I'm so new at this. And you're right on, it's so much more difficult to tell at night.

I'm looking forward to having insurance again one day, and spending a week or so in the hospital and doing a VEEG. Maybe I'll start to get some answers then...

Maybe simple partials? I still feel like I'm grasping at straws.

From what I remember: I was a little hungry, even though I'd just finished eating about 30 minutes prior. I lay on the bed because my husband wanted to show me something on the computer (Will Ferrel accepting the Mark Twain award).

And as soon as I got on the bed it started getting more intense. I started feeling funky in my stomach. But not pukey. My heart started beating harder/faster. I got cold. My head felt very fuzzy, but I was aware of what was going on. I could understand the video and respond w/ smiles and not really a laugh more like a snort.

Then I read this on epilepsy.com:
It is a pressure that starts in my stomach, then rises to my chest and throat. When it reaches my chest, I smell an unpleasant odor of something burnt. At the same time I feel anxious."

And this:

Autonomic seizures:

These cause changes in the part of the nervous system that automatically controls bodily functions. These common seizures may include strange or unpleasant sensations in the stomach, chest, or head; changes in the heart rate or breathing; sweating; or goose bumps.

It lasted through out the video, which was about 8 minutes long. And it went on a good big longer than that. Maybe 15 minutes.

Yiles! Sorry you had to go through that. It sounds kind of like my partial szs except they only last for 30 second to a minute or so. How are you feeling now?

I feel normal now. I really should have timed it, I'm just going off of how long the video was, and trying to guess how long I lay there before I started feeling better.

I did have my husband give me half an ativan, and I let it melt under my tongue.
